Under computer does it say Standard PC or ACPI Multiprocessor PC? it does seem a bit smoother but still not anywhere near normal. Today's updated XP SP3 needs more resources than the original version, launched in 2001. You reformat and reinstall and all is well for a while, then the issue returns.
Think of them as the cogs of a motor. that is not the main problem i was trying to solve though, that came up recently. Fix registry problems (and delete more unnecessary files) with the free www.CCleaner.com. It has done this 2 time(s).
