Note I said partition and not just hard drive. Dave have you tried Win7 Backup Imaging? In order to upgrade, you need a paid version to upgrade from. XP doesnt know anything about win 7 boot structure.
Why not create another separate partition for your Media, transfer it all there and then Install onto C:\. There were a few issues early on but most have since been fixed.
