If the file isn't there, copy from i386 as above.Malware almost invariably causes this behaviour so get some decent scanners going in there - starting with MalwareBytes form http://www.malwarebytes.com.[/#000ff] Can't find Msconfig was repeatedly blocked by a setting in Spybot Search & Destroy. Surprisingly, the odd thing about MSConfig.exe is it’s not located in either of the 2 most obvious directories of C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 on Windows XP, which is where the other system I looked where another forum "told me" to look, and I had different entries. If I can get this running properly again I will definitely image the disc this time. How fast is your internet?
